An MRI scan is known to be harmless to the human body as it does not emit radiation or harmful rays. However, due to the strong magnetic fields, patients with the following issues cannot undergo this test.

Because it does not release radiation or hazardous rays, an MRI scan is believed to be safe for the human body. Patients with the following conditions, however, are unable to undertake this test due to the intense magnetic fields.
1. Pacemaker implants
2. Cochlear implants
3. Various prosthetic devices
4. Bone-growth & neurostimulators
5. Metal implants (primarily iron-based)
6. Intracranial aneurysm clips

Preparing for an MRI scan:

Bring your medical history along with any previous scans
Make sure to remove any metallic objects, such as keys, jewellery, belt, wallet, etc.
Make sure to inform the radiologist if you are claustrophobic
For women patients, it’s vital to inform the doctor and/or the radiologist if they are pregnant or if they are planning to achieve pregnancy
