His parents taught him to respect all beings, no matter their caste or class, and throughout his life he remained an advocate for the disadvantaged. As he grew older, Kripalu took up the spiritual path and soon became known throughout his village for his wisdom and kindness. His reputation spread and devotees began to flock to him for advice and blessings. He soon left his home village and began traveling throughout India preaching his message of equality, peace and love. People were drawn to his words with many feeling that they had found a true guru in Kripalu. He became known as "the living saint” and was revered by those who followed him.
