If Sildisoft contains sildenafil, then people who take nitrate medicines should not take Sildisoft. The combination can cause a potentially dangerous, sudden drop in blood pressure because both drugs increase the nitric-oxide/cGMP pathway. D DailyMed +1 Nitrates include Nitroglycerin (GTN) — tablets, sprays, patches, etc., commonly used for angina/chest pain Isosorbide mononitrate Isosorbide dinitrate Other organic nitrates/nitrites, including recreational “poppers” F FDA Access Data This applies even if you use the nitrate only occasionally, not just every day. D DailyMed Important: If you've already taken Sildisoft/sildenafil and then develop chest pain, tell emergency medical staff that you took sildenafil. Don't take a nitrate on your own to treat the chest pain.
