Rajesh Oza is an experienced chess player and coach with more than 20 years of involvement in chess. His journey in chess is particularly inspiring, as he continued to pursue the game after losing his vision at the age of 15 due to complications following a cataract operation.

Under the guidance of his mentor Joseph D’Souza, Rajesh Oza developed his competitive chess skills and went on to achieve several significant milestones. He has participated in national and international chess events and has represented India in blind chess competitions.

Rajesh Oza became the first fully blind Indian player to achieve an official FIDE rating and was a three-time National 'A' Championship participant. He also competed internationally in countries including Turkey and Spain and represented India at the World Individual Chess Championship in Istanbul. His achievements demonstrate his dedication, discipline, and passion for the game.

Today, through Rajesh Oza Chess Academy, he shares his knowledge and experience with children, beginners, and aspiring chess players in Pune. The academy provides structured chess coaching designed to develop concentration, strategic thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, confidence, and discipline.

With 1000+ students trained, the academy continues to encourage students to learn, practise, and develop their chess skills through systematic coaching and expert guidance.
