INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (IISED) was started with the sole AIM of providing opportunities for the holistic development of oppressed and neglected section of society from the rural and urban areas of the most backward southern districts of Tamilnadu. The IISED, Madurai has been implementing integrated health and development programmes for the backward community in Madurai district, Tamilnadu, India from 2008. Apart from its multisectoral intervention for vulnerable groups, IISEDprovide an ideal environment for students of social work to gain hands-on experience of working in a rural setup.
