HYDROCEL- Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is a nonionic cellulose ether that readily dissolves in water to form viscous solutions. Chemically, it is high purity cellulose that has been etherified to form hydroxyethyl groups to give the desired solubility in water. In solution, the product acts as a thickener and rheology control agent, as a protective colloid, binder, stabilizer, and suspending agent. Can be used as a protective colloid, stabilizer, and suspending agent. Offers very good pseudoplastic flow behavior and wide compatibility with other materials such as emulsion polymers, natural and synthetic gums, emulsifiers, defoamers, pigments, surfactants, and preservatives.
