In this particular project, our clients required a stainless steel 316L driven gear with internal geometry and high requirements for tolerances and surface finish. We considered several manufacturing techniques and came up with a hybrid solution using SLM metal 3D printing, CNC machining and wire EDM technology for excellent dimensional accuracy, surface quality and production performance.
