car engine belt | Boodmo

Belts rip can highly possibly result in essential damages of connected mechanisms. Type and grade of damages depend on the internal structure of motor, its type and passive detail security mechanisms provided by a car manufacturer. Whether its construction is simple you may end up with just a belt replacement with no additional repair. On the other hand, for diesel engines a timing belt rip is a serious problem. The reason is that specific construction of a diesel engine reduces the movement of valves. Consequently, if the belt ripped at the moment when the valves were at the upper point such details as integral cylinder head, cam shaft, crank arms, bearings and valves may get serious damage.
