IIA Group's best AME College was established in the year 1981 and the foundation stone was laid by Capt. R.N. Sinha. He was also the founder chairman of Aviators Co-operative, the pioneer operator to start non-scheduled MRO (Maintenance Repair Organization) operations in the year 1968. The time when working on aircraft and helicopters was a mere dream for the student, IIA Group was amongst the first in India to set up an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) College. Thus IIA Group has been producing world-class Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for last 41 years.

When a good science laboratory in a college was considered an achievement, IIA Group brought in aircraft – Heavy pressurized Aircraft Hawker HS – 125, Learjet – 24, Bonanza A – 35, Helicopter SA – 318C, Eurocopter EC – 120B – for practical training of students. IIA Group contributed significantly in shaping up technical jobs and careers in Indian Aviation Industry.
